Art of Theater Collage

My collage, The Art of Theater, is based on the theme of performing music and dance. If you notice, both musicians and dancers are placed on the same stage, adding unity to the theme. The theme I was trying to portray was that many different types of art forms are welcome on stage. Having everyone share the stage symbolizes that all art forms are made up of the same type of passion and drive for those artists to share their art with others. Art gives freedom to all those who wish to express it, and performing on stage gives them the freedom to invite others to share in their passions.

In my collage, I used different types of pictures, not only pictures of actual people, but cartoons, because I felt that it added a different element to my collage. It wouldn’t have been as eye-catching had I not added the different types of pictures to my collage. If I had more time, I would have spent more time experimenting with Photoshop and how to make the overall collage better in general.

Nature translates to me as peaceful. It is a God-given gift to us that we often take for granted. There's nothing like sitting at the beach and watching the sea grass blowing in the breeze. This picture not only reminds me of home, but calms me. Different types of digital media set off emotions for different people. If I could have any types of pictures in my house when I get older, I would have calming pictures, like this one, to remind me to 'take it easy.'

It’s not always easy to capture an action shot, especially an action shot where the subjects of the photo are enjoying themselves. In this particular photo, the photographer clearly captured the moment. The dancers have perfect form and the front-most dancer looks like she is having a ball. To me, this picture is special. Looking at the dancers makes me wish I could be as graceful as they are. Digital media allows us to capture these special moments that not everyone sees at first glance.

Thanks to digital media, all different types of emotions and personalities can be captured. Not only does it capture special moments, but it also captures art. So then, what is art? Art can be anything that anyone sees as unique, different, or special – that’s the way I see it. Nature is art. People are art. Anything you see is art. Things that some see as garbage, others could see as art. So much art is out in this world waiting for someone to discover it – waiting for someone to capture it at the perfect moment.
